The CIRM working groups

Working groups have been established for each of the three priority areas, with the key outcomes for each working groups being:

  • to encourage and demonstrate collaborative opportunities and approaches for the provision of R&D in the relevant priority area
  • to determine priority R&D areas for the CIRM partners
  • to facilitate the development of proposals for projects and their associated funding to address the CIRM R&D priority areas. Suggest funding options for the list of high priority projects including
    • Across the partners
    • R&D funding organisations
    • Other R&D providers as collaborative arrangements (e.g. with interstate agencies)
  • to build close links with the users of the proposed R&D in terms of identifying future R&D needs and the application of the R&D, in collaboration with other CIRM working groups
  • to facilitate communication across and within the CIRM partners on the priority issue R&D
  • to implement the projects with the R&D providers
  • to use their best efforts to make CIRM and its role widely known within its own organisation with the aim, where feasible, of encouraging activities to be undertaken by CIRM.
